Greatest Shave 2017
On Monday 20th March, in front of a whole school assembly, Mrs Sutherland parted with her long locks for a great cause.
The World's Greatest Shave raises money for the Leukaemia Foundation. It helps fund vital resarch so more people survive blood cancers like lymphoma, leukaemia and myeloma. Blood cancer is the third most common cause of cancer death in Australia. More than 60,000 Australians are living with blood cancer or related disorders, and every day another 35 will be diagnosed.
In a selfless act, Mrs Sutherland chose to participate in the World's Greatest Shave and, in front of over 1,000 people, had her lovely, long hair shaved off. It was then donated to create a wig for someone in need.
Mrs Sutherland's goal of raising $3,000 was reached and surpassed. With the support of family, friends, colleagues, students and families she raised almost $6,000!
What an inspiration you are Mrs Sutherland. We are so very proud of you.
